R.I.P. Wangari Maathai a Green idol

Wangari Maathai is our Green idol that we all stand with deep regrets for such an inconventional Green fighter and revolutionist....With deep sorrow and sadness we regret the passage of the Kenyan Green heroin that succeeded in  introducing revolution in our minds, in our paradigms.

Here i copy some words from my colleagues of Kenya Young Greens...My deep regrets and condolences  for you my friends :

It is with great sadness that we received and accepted the passage of the Nobel Laureate Prof. Wangari Mathaai. Prof. passed on while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital after a year's struggle with ovarian cancer. Kenya Young Greens, Kenyans and the world will remember Prof as a hero who survived imprisonment, death threats and intimidation in a bid to save Kenya's forests. We remember her benefit not just to the current generation but also to posterity. As the founder of the Greenbelt Movement and her ardent support and belief in Green principles, we the Green fraternity have lost a mentor, a supporter, a Green, a leader and a woman of Noble character.

She was also a Human rights activist who led Kenyan Women in an act of boldness to agitate for the release of political prisoners.  For this we mourn her passing and ask that God may rest her soul in eternal peace.Take a moment and plant a tree in her memory Take a moment and raise awareness of any looming specie extinction threat in her memory. Take a moment and write a good story of her achievements in her memory. Take a moment and do good to the ecology in her memory. For all her acts of peace, for all her acts of love, for all her acts of boldness and for all her acts of leadership, Prof. lives on in our hearts, she lives in the strong spirit of the universe. May her soul rest in peace.
